Fiberglass in composite materials

The main structural characteristics of the composite material reinforced by fibers derived. It depends on the level of the type of glass, filament diameter, chemical and fiber in the form of coatings, it can reach a wide range of features and performance.
In glass fiber production, molten material, and drawn into fine and highly abrasive filaments, a diameter in the range of 3.5 to 24 microns. Silica is the initial ingredients, typically accounting for more than 50% by weight of glass fiber. Metal oxides and other ingredients added to the silica and different processing methods can be customized fiber for specific applications.
