Composite 3D printer with fiberglass
The
new 3D printer use composite material. You can use software to change
and print models from any device that runs Google's Chrome browser.
"We
thought we'd show part of the potential of the cloud today by rolling
out a cool new capability as we unveil our software," said Greg Mark,
founder and CEO of MarkForged. "As of today, the Mark One supports
embedding of functional electronics and metal structures inside our
continuous composite 3D printed parts. Fiberglass chopped strand mat your printer will notify you –
via the cloud – when it is time to place your inserts."
Nylon printing
The
Mark One can print outer contours and curves in engineering nylon and
fills each part with close-packed reinforcement in continuous carbon
fiber, Kevlar or fiberglass. The printer switches between two nozzles
during a print, creating fiber-reinforced plastic parts with a
strength-to-weight ratio better than aluminum. The print bed clicks into
place with 10 micron accuracy between operations to facilitate
multi-step processes like insert embedding.
