Evonik launched a new glass fiber composite material

Recently Evonik has developed a VESTAMID HTplus M1035 P1, which is glass fiber-reinforced molding compound based on polyphthalamide dimethylformamide (PPA).
The company said the material is designed for use in the automotive industry to dynamically strengthen the housing assembly. It has the strength to withstand high burst pressure and alternating stress and anti-corrosive media good chemical resistance.
The new PPA level in terms of impact strength also achieved good results.
With the VESTAMID HTplus series of products development, it will replace the traditional metal applications. It is a semi-crystalline, fiberglass chopped strand mat polyphthalamide-based material which is resistant to high temperatures and chemicals.
